Your vote starts with registration.
To vote in an election in Grenada, you must first be registered as an elector.
Voter registration is handled by the Parliamentary Elections Office through constituency offices across Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. If you are eligible but have never registered, you can visit the electoral office serving your constituency and complete the registration process.
Registration is free and normally takes only one visit to complete.
Am I eligible to register?
You may be eligible to register as an elector if you:
- are 18 years of age or older;
- are a citizen of Grenada, or a qualifying Commonwealth citizen;
- meet the applicable residency requirements; and
- are ordinarily resident in the constituency in which you are registering.
Commonwealth citizens must have resided in Grenada for at least 12 months immediately before registration. You can only be registered in one polling division at a time.

Where do I register?
Registration is done in person at the electoral office serving your constituency — the one where you ordinarily live.
An Assistant Registration Officer will review your documents, complete your application and capture the information required for your Voter Identification Card.

The documents you need depend on your circumstances. You may be required to present:
Birth certificate or passport
Bring your official birth certificate or a valid passport as proof of your identity.
Marriage certificate
If your current name is different because of marriage, bring your marriage certificate, where applicable.
Citizenship document
If your eligibility is based on acquired Grenadian citizenship, bring the relevant citizenship documentation.
Commonwealth citizens
Bring the required proof of your period of residence in Grenada.
Naturalised Grenadians
Where applicable, you may also be required to provide a Grenadian parent's birth certificate.

Photo, fingerprint, signature — and you're on the list.
How registration works

Visit your constituency electoral office
Go to the office serving the constituency where you ordinarily live and present your documents to the Assistant Registration Officer.

Complete your application
The officer will ask the questions needed to complete and verify your application. Make sure your answers are accurate.

Have your information captured
Your photograph, fingerprints and signature are taken at the office. You do not need to bring your own photograph.

Your documents are scanned
The officer scans your supporting documents, enters the information into the system and returns your originals.

Keep your receipt
You'll receive a registration receipt. Keep it safe — you need it to collect your Voter ID card.

Collect your Voter ID card
About two weeks later, return in person with your receipt. Only the registered applicant can collect the card.
How much does it cost?
First registration and your first Voter ID card are free.
A replacement Voter ID card costs EC$20.
When can I register?
Voter registration in Grenada is a continuous process, so eligible persons can normally register throughout the year. It ceases when the Governor-General issues the Writ for a General Election.
There's no need to wait until an election is announced.

You don't need to register again just because an election is approaching. Check the electoral list to confirm your name appears. The online list reflects registrations up to the previous quarter, so a recent registration may not appear yet.

Your Voter ID Card
Once your registration is processed, your Voter Identification Card serves as your official electoral identification.
- Collection is in person. Someone else cannot collect your card for you.
- Bring your receipt. Take the registration receipt you received when you registered.
- Allow approximately two weeks. Cards are normally available about two weeks after registration.
- Keep your card safe. Replacement cards cost EC$20.00.

Do I have to pay to register?+
No. Initial voter registration is free.
How old do I have to be to register?+
You must have attained the age of 18 and meet the other legal eligibility requirements.
Can I register online?+
No. You must visit the appropriate constituency office in person because your photograph, fingerprints and signature must be captured.
Can I register at any constituency office?+
You should register through the constituency office serving the constituency in which you are ordinarily resident.
How long does registration take?+
Registration is completed at the constituency office. Your Voter Identification Card is normally available for collection approximately two weeks later.
Can someone collect my Voter ID for me?+
No. Your card must be collected by you in person. Take the receipt issued when you registered.
What happens if I lose my Voter ID?+
A replacement card can be issued. The Parliamentary Elections Office currently lists the replacement cost as EC$20.00.
I recently registered but cannot find my name online. What should I do?+
Don't assume your registration was unsuccessful. The online voters' list reflects registrations up to the previous quarter, so very recent registrations may not yet appear. Contact your constituency office if you need confirmation.
When does registration close before an election?+
Continuous registration ceases when the Governor-General issues the Writ for a General Election.
